Gîte de La  Grand Cour

The story of the Gite de la Grand Cour

Gite à Verneuil

David & Annie will be delighted to welcome you to their gîte. Annie has spent her childhood in Verneuil, and therefore knows the region well. She will be able to advise you on places to visit. Having lived in the United Kingdom for 20 years, she is fluent in English. With her British partner David, they will do their best to help you spend an agreeable stay in the Champagne region.

Le gite de la Grand Cour avant les travaux

A long-term project

Born in Verneuil, Annie left France in 1989 to study in Great Britain. In 2008, after spending 20 years in this country, she decided  to leave London where she was working as a journalist to come back to France. For several years, Annie had been thinking about renovating her parents property, a former farm, to turn it into a gite. She made up her mind in 2009 and booked a one way ticket to France. Her British partner, David, decided to follow her to help her with her project. Annie and David agreed to renovate part of the barns to open a gite which can accommodate up to 8 people. With the help of local artisans, the couple decided to do a lot of the work themselves. They had not realised how big a project it was...

These few pictures illustrate the evolution of the project.
